England and New Zealand go up against each other in the third and final One Day International of the series and with the score tied at 1-1, it is all to play for, just as it was in the third T20 earlier in the month.
The Three Lions were beaten comfortably in the first encounter, but bounced back as they so often do and won by eight wickets in Wellington on Wednesday.
They now head to Auckland in this third ODI in the early hours of Saturday morning and know that if at their best, they should claim a series win.
It is no surprise when looking at the odds that the visiting outfit are the favourites with the bookmakers to win here as you can back them at 8/15 with SkyBet.
Joe Root and Jonathon Trott were the star men with the bat during England’s run-chase and the former is showing that no occasion seems to faze him.
With the ball, James Anderson put in a performance right out of the top drawer as he took five wickets for just 34 runs in his 9.5 overs. If Anderson can do something similar this time out, England should clinch this series.
As for New Zealand, a collapse in the final five overs meant that their score went from being a great one to being around par.
Ross Taylor managed to hit three figures and Brendon McCullum scored 74, continuing his fine form. These two went in quick succession though and if they had of seen-out the overs, the Kiwi’s might have got closer to 300.
As they have done all series, bets on a New Zealand win offer some great value as they are at 8/5 with Boylesports.
With this being their best chance of a series victory during England’s visit, the home side know they have to put in a big performance and upset the bookies in Saturday. If McCullum and Taylor produce similar knocks and others around them also chip-in, they have a great chance of winning here.
There are plenty of batsmen in fine form at the moment, so betting on who might be the leading scorer for their side is going to be popular.
For New Zealand, it seems as though backing McCullum and Taylor is the best way to go as they are both at 4/1 with BetVictor.
Then, Joe Root looks to be fantastic value 9/2 with Betfred.
In terms of a recommended bet though, we think that Jonathan Trott will produce another good knock and be England’s highest scorer. This is available at 4/1 with Bet365.
It should be a cracking ODI, especially with so much at stake.
