England and India lock horns in their fourth One Day International on Wednesday and the latter can claim a series victory in Mohali as they are currently 2-1 up with just two matches to play.
The Three Lions won the first encounter of course, but the next two matches have belonged to the Indians as they were convincing winners in Kochi and Ranchi.
Alastair Cook will be fuming with the way in which his side batted last time out as they were bowled out for just 155. To be bowled out inside 50 overs is bad enough, but to only score that many runs is even worse and a massive improvement is needed on Wednesday if the tourists are to keep this series alive.
When you set such a low total, there is not much the bowlers can do and in the end, India won by a comfortable seven wickets and still had 131 balls remaining. It was a complete and utter thrashing.
It is going to be tough for England now, but if you fancy Cook’s men causing a bit of an upset and winning in Mohali, you can back them at 8/5 with Boylesports.
The England cricket skipper has not found much form in this ODI series and he needs to try and get the innings off to a flyer this week.
As for India, they will be delighted with their response since losing the first match in Rajkot. Things were not looking good for Mahindra Singh Dhoni and his team, but now they look on course to win this series comfortably. The home side are clicking into gear at the perfect time.
The bowling unit are taking wickets at perfect times and the batsmen are making the right decisions as to when they need to accumulate runs and when is the time to really go for it.
Betting on a win for India is sure to be popular and at the moment, they can be backed at 8/13 with Stan James.
As always, the bookmakers are sure to take plenty of bets on the top batsman market. The in-form Virat Kohli is the favourite to score the most runs for his side as he is at 7/2 with Blue Square.
Then you have Alastair Cook at 10/3 with Bet365 to set the example for his side at the top of the order.
We like the look of heading into the top bowler market though and think that Jade Dernbach will put in a good performance with the ball. His chances of being the top bowler for England are rated at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.
With plenty at stake, it should be another cracking One Day International.
