India v Australia 4th Test Betting Preview

| March 20, 2013

India will be looking to do a series whitewash over Australia when the two sides lock horns in the fourth and final Test match in Delhi on Friday.

The Indians have completely outplayed their opponents in this series so far and have a 3-0 lead coming into this one.

Mahindra Singh Dhoni will be delighted with the way his men have performed after their defeat to England late in 2012 and a series whitewash would be the icing on the cake.

In truth, the first three Tests have never really been in any doubt as India have won them all comfortably and done so my recording mammoth scores that the Aussies just haven’t been able to match.

Fans are sure to make a lot of noise in Delhi as they know the chance to beat such a good side 4-0 doesn’t come about very often and it is no surprise that India are the huge favourites with the bookmakers to win this one.

At the moment, Bet365 have the best price on a home win as they have odds of 4/5.

As for Australia, it has been a tour to forget so far and Michael Clarke knows they have to try and finish it on a high to build some confidence ahead of the Ashes series against England in just a few months.

The tourists have struggled with the tough conditions in Asia, but their performances have simply not been good enough.

If you think the Aussies can turn this one around, a bet on them gives you odds of  9/2 with BetVictor, which might be decent value as they are capable of winning here.

Clarke needs to put in a captain’s performance in Delhi and if his men bat first, they have to hit a score in excess of 400 as India always look like getting runs.

When it comes to other markets to place your bets for this fourth Test, the top batsman is always popular and the bookies have some decent value on players scoring the most runs.

For India, it is Cheteshwar Pujara that is leading the betting as he is at 7/2 with Stan James to be the main man with the bat for the home side here.

Then, unsurprisingly, Michael Clarke is the favourite for his team and can be backed at 11/4 with SkyBet.

For this one though, we think you should head into the Man of the Match market and back Dhoni to put in a big performance and take the award, especially with odds of 16/1 with William Hill.

It should be an excellent Test match that both sides are desperate to win.
